(Sunflower owners: Compare lengths of the two poles that go inside the sail sleeves. If they are equal length, then you need a 45 SF sail like this one. If one pole is a couple of feet longer than the other, you need one of our 55 SF sails and this sail will not fit.)

Replacement mast for Super Snark or Sea Snark. Two inches taller than the OEM original mast, giving you a little more headroom under the boom. If you want a mast that adjusts in height giving you the option of that height or taller, get our >Sunflower mast instead. That one also fits Super Snark and Sea Snark and adjusts in 4-inch steps up to 99 inches, for more headroom under the boom. Just a bit more costly, but not a lot.

Sail is a nylon sail in the rainbow stripes pattern unless you tell us you prefer one of the others.

This is the piece you need to add to our spar set in order for the spars to work with a 55 SF sail. Includes spring button. No additional for shipping if you buy something else at same time. Otherwise, if ordered by itself, we'll add $10 shipping after your order is in our system.

Does not fit Snark OEM spars. Only ours.   If you only have our standard mast (87 inches) you will find the boom is really low with the 55 SF sail.  Considering getting the taller Heavy Duty Mast for our sail kits.  Or for an OEM Snark mast get our Adjustable Mast Extension.  Note:  The Heavy Duty Mast does not fit a Snark and the Snark mast extensions do not fit the masts for our sail kits. Two incompatible standards.

This is just a 1/4 x 2" hex or phillips bolt with 3 washers and a nylok nut, available from most hardware stores.

Fits Sea Snark, Super Snark, Sea Skimmer, Sea Devil and Sunflower. Some might call it a centerboard or even a keel, but technically it is a dagger board because it slides up and down rather than being pivoted like a center board or fixed like a keel.

Complete rudder and tiller assembly for Sea Snark, Super Snark, Sunflower, Sea Skimmer. Also consider our High Performance rudder, item 8024.

This item is compatible only with boats that have the black plastic fitting ("gudgeon plate") on the transom to receive the rudder pin. If you have metal fitting, you need to replace it with the plastic one (item 8012 is OEM rudder and gudgeon plate at one package price and item 8025 is the High Performance Rudder and tiller with gudgeon at one package price. ).

We don't stock this item. We order it from the factory for direct shipment to you. The factory is often very slow processing orders and does not routinely provide tracking numbers, but will if asked. Their slowness is another reason to consider ordering our rudder instead.

If you have the old metal fitting (gudgeon) to receive the rudder pin, and you need a rudder replacement, then you need this item or the 8025 because the metal-to-metal system has been discontinued. This is now the OEM factory standard equipment.

But remember: for our "High Performance Rudder and Tiller" plus the gudgeon order item 8025

Just like item 8024 (high performance rudder for Super Snark and Sunflower), except we add an eyebolt halfway up the tiller for the sheet line to go through. This allows the typical rigging of a Sea Skimmer, but it does limit the adjustment range for tiller length to 18 inches, which is probably all you need or want anyway. Of course, the eyebolt could be removed. Click on the "8024" in the text above to see the rest of the description.  Also see notes that follow about gudgeons to make sure you'll be all set to use your new rudder.

The "gudgeon" is the piece attached to the boat that the rudder mates up with and is secured to by the rudder pin.   Older boats may have a metal gudgeon.   This rudder and all other rudders sold today will not mate up with the old metal gudgeon.  You must replace a metal gudgeon with the current black plastic gudgeon. It has a big eye on the top that's easy for fingers to grasp and allows you to tie a cord onto it. Tie the other end (with some slack) onto the rudder so you will never lose your pin. And the cotter pin is abolished! Instead, you have a convenient wing nut.
