7-foot flat blade oar with aluminum shaft that slides apart and together in the middle for easy transport and storage on land and in the boat. Stainless steel spring button locks the 2 halves together. Rubber grip. Strong oar, not a toy. Go ahead and put your back into rowing -- it won't fail. Shaft is 1 1/8" diameter. It will fit through the oarlocks of most inflatable boats (take apart in middle to fit through oarlock). You can purchase oar together with metal clamp-on oarlock at item 5031. Get two oars and you can join the two blade section together to make a double-bladed kayak paddle (see item 5175 for joining sleeve). This makes a great steering oar for sailing too.
